Music Therapy Organization - This site is good
for people interested in pursuing music therapy. This site
talks about what music therapy is, careers in music therapy,
how to find music therapists, membership into the AMTO. Publications
are also available on this site. |

The National Association for Music Educators -
Dedicated to advancing music education by encouraging the study
and making of music by all. Founded in 1907 with 64 members,
today's membership has grown to nearly 90,000 including active
music teachers, university faculty and researchers, college
students preparing to be teachers, high school honor society
members and MusicFriends. |

Teachers National Association - This site is intended
for music teachers, anyone interested in becoming a music teacher,
and anyone searching for a music teacher for himself or a child.
There is an application for membership and certification. You
can also find out about your local association. There is information
on choosing a music teacher. The best thing about this page
is the "Pedagogy Directory" which has links to the music
departments of many U.S. colleges and Universities, including
SFA. This is helpful for college and high school students that
are interested in a music career. There are also links to MTNA-Affiliated
Organizations. |
Texas
Bandmasters Association - The largest state band
directors association in the world. The Texas Bandmasters Association
has worked diligently over the past 55 years to further the
cause of instrumental music education in the communities throughout
the Lone Star State. |
Texas
Coalition for Quality Arts Education - This site
is mainly geared towards advocacy for all types of arts, and
includes many advocacy links. However, it also offers new songs
(Texas songs) and displays student artwork, etc. It is a useful
tool for teachers who are expected to teach all the arts in
their elementary school - dance, theater, art, and music. There
are also schedules of arts festivals and tips for setting up
your own festival. |
Texas
Music Educators Association - An important music
association in Texas. This site informs you how to request
membership in TMEA and register for the convention. It contains
different links as well as a place to research on-line and
a bulletin board. One can learn what's new in TMEA, join
the TMEA mentoring network, or make an on-line resume.
