sound and notation. The only downside is that there is a
charge to use the site of $10 per month. The site offers
video lesson plans, printed music lesson plans, a music library
(with over 25,000 songs), as well as interactive players
and music store.

resources for elementary-school teachers, parents, and students.
Includes a searchable activity database, educational games,
professional development, and textbook support.

Kindermusik -
A site for parents of children from newborn to 7 years who are
interested in an alternative way of learning for their child. "Kindermusik" is
an early childhood music and movement program based on the beliefs
that every child is musical, every parent is the child's most
important teacher, and the home is the most important place for
learning to take root and grow. This site offers different sections
for children, teachers, and parents. There is a curriculum that
has lessons for each stage of the child's development.

of Music - This site is intended for K-6 graders,
teachers, and parents. The layout is appealing to children
and easy to navigate. There are characters such as "Helen
Half Note" and "Quincy Quarter Note" that appeal to children.
There are songs to download and you can ask questions. There
is a page for parents and teachers. There is also a message
board and a page for teacher comments. Links to pages such
as "Texas Music Educators Association" and "American Music
Conference" are also included.

The curriculum is designed specifically for day care providers,

teachers. Includes equipment and instrument reviews, arrangements
and classroom projects to try with your classes, as well
as a subscription section providing teaching materials.

for kids. It explains the Mozart effect on children and offers
the latest research pertaining to classical music's effect
on young children.

This website is directed to elementary music teachers. It gives
information on how to incorporate music and rhythm into a daily
classroom curriculum. It is organized very neat with subjects
such as how to make instruments, guidelines on how to teach
kids to play instruments and the use of movement. It recently
been updated and is organized by headings and categories. |
Scholastic -
This site offers information for teachers, parents, and children.
Each group has their own section with searchable links and information
directed specifically for them. There is extensive information
on teaching materials, lesion plans and books for teachers, parents
and children. This site is not dedicated to only music, but there
is a search function that returned 560 matches for music topics.
This is clearly one of the most useful sites for everyone.

Sisters Productions, Inc. - Basically an online
shopping center for music educational materials for children.
Although the site does not specifically deal with music for
children, it has a very good link page to other sites that
offer quality information. The links page is divided into
nine different categories ranging from teacher resources
to home schooling activities. Each page listed on the links
page has it's own summary of the site as well as the address
and logo. This would be a good place for teachers to look
for resources in all aspects of teaching including music.

Frog Productions - Good layout. Easy to follow
homepage much like Songs for Success page. Offers no teaching
instruction, but does offer large selection of music for
young children. Sample tunes are provided. No links are included,
but he does have a mailing list.
