SFA Lumberjack
Drumline

The
SFA Lumberjack Drumline is the driving force behind the 240-member
Lumberjack Marching Band. This thirty-member group is composed of
percussion majors, other music majors and non-music majors from across
campus. The drumline performs corps style music and arrangements
at the highest level for multiple half-time performances, as well
as demonstrating excellence in military-style performance for the
traditional pre-game show. The drumline is composed of a full battery
with 5-8 snares, 3-5 tenors, 5-7 bass drums, a marchiing cymbal line
and a large pit/front ensemble.
Auditions
for the SFA Drumline are held each Fall at the beginning of band
camp. Students should be prepared to demonstrate technical and musical
proficiancies on the instrument of their choice, but at the same
time be open to, and prepared for, performing on a secondary instrument.
Exercises and audition music are available during the summer months
prior to band camp and sight-reading is always a major portion of
the audition process.
Drumline Camp: August 10-12, 2007
