The SFA Twirl-O-Jacks are comprised of a head twirler and 6-20 twirlers, depending on the quality of candidates. The Twirl-O-Jacks are well-known throughout the state for their flashy and precise execution of the dance-twirl routines at football and basketball games, pep-rallies, and other functions of SFASU. The group also has to its credit championships at the USTA National Open and the AAU Southwest and National Open.

Try-Outs
Every year T-O-J auditions take place in the spring. Interested twirlers should fill out the application and send it back to the band office by March 14, 2008. Twirlers will be chosen by a panel of judges who consider performance talent, ability to adapt to the Twirl-O-Jack style and positive work and performance attitude. Usually, a routine will be taught on the first weekend and the try-out performance will be held the following weekend.

Choreographer
The current T-O-J sponsor and choreographer is Candice Curbow, Assistant Head T-O-J, 1999-2000 and Head T-O-J, 2000-2003.

Scholarships
All T-O-J's who make the line are eligible to receive a scholarship. The T-O-J scholarship is $250 per semester. This is renewable as long as grade standards are maintained and the T-O-J's status on the line is unchanged. Additionally, most uniform expenses for the T-O-J's are covered by the university. Today's T-O-J's have a rich legacy of support from former T-O-J's. This support takes the form of the Bridges-McKinney Scholarship and the recently renamed Jimmie Hudgins Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded after the school year begins in the fall semester through an application process.
