Background
DR. RONALD E. ANDERSON, professor, has been a member of the SFA music
faculty and administration since 1970. He served as Director of Choral
Activities for thirteen years and has been Director of the School
since 1986. His teaching areas include music bibliography, conducting,
literature, and appreciation. He completed two years as
President of the Texas
Association of Music Schools (TAMS), was Chair of the University's
Chairs Forum, and was Co-Chair of the Texas
Higher Education Coordinating Board Field of Study Committee
for Music. He received the SFA Foundation Achievement Award for Teaching for the 2004-05 academic year and became the Founding Director of the Texas Institute for Creativity and Innovation (TICI) in the spring of 2008. He was active for more than twenty-five years as a Director
of Music in a local church and has published several compositions,
historical editions and arrangements for choral ensembles and bell
choirs.
