Staff Accompanist, Piano

Hsin-I Huang, is an active collaborative artist, performing in venues such as the Harris Concert Hall in Aspen, Ordway Concert Hall, Landmark Center in St. Paul, and the 2016 Young Artist Residence Program of Performance Today, in collaboration with violinist Phoenix Avalon. She has also appeared in masterclasses of renowned musicians, including Victoria Chiang, Nobuko Imai, Daniel Hope, Emmanuel Pahud, William Preucil, Cynthia Phelps, and Giora Schmidt.

Dr. Huang holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Soochow University in Taiwan, studying with DaMing Zhu, and a Master of Music in Collaborative Piano from the University of Texas at Austin, where she studied with Chuck Dillard, Anne Epperson and Colette Valentine, and served as an Academy Assistant. She earned her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in collaborative piano from the University of Minnesota as a Teaching Assistant of Timothy Lovelace.

Dr. Huang spent two summers at the Aspen Music Festival and School, where she received full scholarships studying with Andrew Harley and Rita Sloan; as an Instrumental Fellow in Music Academy of the West, studying with Jonathan Feldman and Margaret McDonald; and as a Teaching Assistant of Deloise Lima in the Brevard Music Festival.

Dr. Huang served as a staff pianist at the 2015 Complete Flutist at the School of Music, the University of Minnesota, directed by Immanuel Davis. She joins Stephen F. Austin State University as a staff pianist in the fall of 2017.
