The Choral Union
The Choral Union

The Choral Union, under the direction of David Howard, is an auditioned 75-voice mixed chorus comprised of music majors and talented non-music majors at Stephen F. Austin State University. The Choral Union performs a wide range of repertoire from renaissance polyphony to contemporary unaccompanied works.

In recent years The Choral Union has collaborated with the A Cappella Choir, Women’s Choir and the Orchestra of the Pines for performances of large-scale choral/orchestral works including Handel’s Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Haydn’s Creation, and Mozart’s Requiem.

The Choral Union rehearses three times weekly and appears in concert twice a semester. For more information, contact David Howard, Associate Director of Choirs.
