Orchestra: Concerto / Aria Auditions
Each year, students have the opportunity to audition for a spot in the annual concerto/aria concert as guest soloist. These auditions are open to all SFA music majors taking applied lessons. The competition works in three phases. Divided by the following areas: woodwinds, brass, voice, strings/piano/percussion, each area holds a preliminary hearing of all applicants. Each area may advance three finalists to participate in the final round live performance, which is a ticketed event held on beginning at 6 p.m. on April 6, 2017 in Cole Concert Hall.
Applications for the competition are to be made electronically by online submission via the following link:

The presentation of your audition is important. Your dress speaks for your audition before you have played a note. You have spent a lot of time preparing your audition repertoire. Take the same care in choosing your attire. For men, a button-down long sleeve shirt with a tie, slacks and slick shoes makes for a great presentation and for women, a nice blouse with pants or dress.
