Bands: Fall 2016 Band Auditions
|Wind Ensemble||MWF 12–12:50||MUP 135.001 (MUP 335.001—upper level credit)|
|Wind Symphony||MWF 12–12:50||MUP 135.002 (MUP 335.002—upper level credit)|
|Symphonic Band||TTh 2–3:15||MUP 135.003 (MUP 335.003—upper level credit)|
Section numbers can be changed, if you make a different band than the one you register for.
Members of all three bands must provide their own copy of Foundations for Superior Performance, by Richards Williams and Jeff King. It is published by Kjos Music and available at many larger music stores. You should take care of this now, because they are not available in Nacogdoches.
Required dress for all three bands: men—black tux with white shirt/black bow tie; women—long black dress (preferred), skirt or nice slacks (not jeans or casual cotton pants). With skirt or slacks, a black blouse or top that fully overlaps or tucks in the skirt/slacks.
Audition Schedule and Music
All instruments have excerpts on three pages to download.
Percussionists must audition on all instruments. Percussionists will also have a short sight-reading excerpt.
Non-music majors who want only to be considered for Symphonic Band may select one page of the packet for the audition. (Music majors must do the entire audition.)
