TExES Exam

To qualify for the music TExES examination, students must pass the music mastery exam for MTC 461 (Music Form and Analysis) or MHL 355 (Music for Children III) with a minimum score of 70%. Music mastery exams will be given in Room 270 (unless noted otherwise) from 2:00pm-5:00pm. For more information contact Dr. Turner at 468-4051 or meturner@sfasu.edu.

Anyone wishing to take the TExES exam must have their School of Music Clearance Application completed and signed by Mr. Allen, Dr. King, Mr. Dean, or Dr. Turner by the appropriate date. The form must be delivered to Dr. Turner’s mailbox by 5:00 pm. He will take them to the College of Education. Each student is responsible for completing their own individual application form and delivering it to the College of Education with the appropriate fee by the SFA Application deadline.
