Facilities: Piano Lab
The state-of-the-art Yamaha Clavinova Digital Piano Lab is housed in the Griffith Fine Arts Building. Students play on one of 16 Yamaha Clavinova CLP Digital pianos with 88-keys and graded hammer action to simulate the feel of an acoustic instrument. The teacher instrument is a Yamaha Clavinova CVP-407 Digital Piano with a bank of hundreds of orchestral sounds to provide lively accompaniments to students’ performances. Headsets at each station along with the MLC-100 Group Education Controller allow instructors to communicate with individual students, pairs, groups, or the entire classroom without disturbing others. Students can work in ensembles and duet settings without having to leave their pianos. An LCD projector and large screen allow instructors to utilize the most up-to-date keyboard and music staff visualization programs to keep piano classes running efficiently.
